Who we are

Digital Magenta is a specialized consultancy that helps companies optimize and accelerate revenue. We work with growth companies who have acquired layers of people, technology and process and as they went through their initial phase of rapid growth. As a result,  data to make key decisions and build a scalable sales process becomes trapped and revenue begins to leak away. We have built a methodology called the  Growth Data™ Platform (service offering) to help companies seal the leaks, and get the view on the right data to optimize their sales process, conversions, and revenue. 

What you'll do and create

We are currently looking for a Growth Director to help us bring this cutting-edge solution to US-based growth companies. You will be hands-on in the early days, building and executing your growth plans and closing deals. You will have the opportunity to build a team and our own growth function as we scale. You will be involved in many different initiatives across the business and collaborate closely with the founders, Operations Director and Growth Intelligence Analysts. Come work with the Growth Data™ people! This is a “work from anywhere” position. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Your main priority in the first 90 days will be to bring on 3 new customers

Strategy & Positioning 

  • Work with leadership to refine company strategy and positioning
  • Ongoing evaluation and tweaking of product-market fit 
  • Formulate company growth strategy and execute plans 
  • Provide input to evolve, refine and focus product offering over time  
  • Developing sales language for all stages of the sales process 
  • Input into the evolution of pricing strategy 

Sales Pipeline Development 

  • Actively seek out new sales opportunities 
  • Develop content to engage prospects 
  • Effective use of LinkedIn for prospecting and developing new relationships
  • Direct the evolution of website messaging 
  • Work with our third-party consulting firm to understand & integrate LinkedIn prospecting process internally 
  • Participate in conferences or speaking engagements when required   

Customer Acquisition, Retention & Upsell 

  • Develop sales strategies, tactics and action plans to expand the current customer base
  • Build and maintain long-lasting customer relationships
  • Drive sales process from prospecting to close 
  • Negotiate to close deals and effectively handle objections 
  • Effectively position Growth Data™ Platform consulting services against alternatives  
  • Effectively communicate the value proposition through presentations, strategy sessions and proposals 
  • Develop repeatable proposal template
  • Work closely with Operations Director to identify new opportunities within existing accounts 
  • Create strategies to increase sales growth and profitability through the development of new accounts and the growth of existing customers

Develop & Refine Sales Process

  • Design and implement a scalable sales strategy 
  • Work with our analysts to build a data infrastructure to track performance metrics across the sales process and create revenue reports for stakeholders
  • Align and optimize process, tools, systems / CRM (HubSpot)
  • Document sales process and CRM procedures to eventually onboard new sales reps with ease 
  • Acquire and document customer successes and testimonials that can be used in the selling process 

Delivery

  • Support delivery team in the “identify” phase (first 60 days of engagement) 
  • Effectively understand customer needs and pain points 
  • Transition client relationships to Operations Director seamlessly 
  • Become a trusted advisor to new clients
  • Solicit and share customer feedback 

Team Building & Management (future) 

  • Identify when first sales or marketing hire is required   
  • Build growth function with the right mix of marketing & sales talent 
  • Lead and manage the onboarding process for growth team members 
  • Keep team members aligned on revenue 
  • Coach and motivate future sellers and marketers 

What you'll bring to the team 

  • Proven sales experience, meeting or exceeding targets with complex B2B sales cycles 
  • Previous experience as a sales director, wearing multiple hats 
  • Ability to communicate, present and influence all levels of the organization, including executive and C-level
  • Proven ability to drive the sales process from plan to close
  • Proven ability to articulate the distinct aspects of products and services
  • Proven ability to position products against competitors
  • Excellent listening, negotiation, presentation and closing skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Ability to translate complex concepts into tangible business language 
  • Must be able to thrive in an early stage environment and embrace change 
  • Currently struggles with the problem we solve - you are a believer in the power of the right data (Growth Data) 
  • MBA, undergrad business degree or equivalent
  • Experience with one of the big 4 consulting firms is an asset 
  • Experience with HubSpot CRM or Salesforce  is an asset 
  • Team management experience is an asset
